We use foams, mastics, duct sealants, and barrier coatings to help tighten residential homes by preventing heat gain or heat loss by sealing leaking air ducts and conditioned spaces. Typical residential air ducts leak over 10% of their conditioned air. Many houses have had leakage over 15%. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy StarŪ Program recommends sealing air ducts and all state, national, and international building codes require air ducts to be sealed. Properly sealed ductwork will make the efficiency of the system condition where it is intended, not waste the conditioned air in the walls or in the unconditioned basement.
